Summer Research Programme
Our Summer Researchers are conducting individual research projects with Nologix for 8 weeks. They’re conducting research on a broad range of projects - have a read below!
Imane Sekkat
Imane Sekkat holds a master's degree in development studies and Applied Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a prior master’s degree in Corporate Finance from ESSEC Business School. At Nologix, her research looks at the implications of data harvesting from hydrogen smart meters. Before joining LSE, Imane spent six years in the renewable energy sector, working on the financing and deployment of solar, wind, hydro, and battery storage projects across Europe and Africa.
Claire Harel
Claire is a summer researcher at Nologix, currently studying a BSc. Politics and International Relations at the London School of Economics. Her research at Nologix explores the regulation of AI profiling and triage systems in asylum processes to prevent discriminatory outcomes in immigration decisions. More broadly, her academic and policy interests focus on how governments respond to emerging global challenges, including AI governance and climate change.
Keerthana Bathula
Keerthana is a researcher exploring how emerging technologies like AI and biometric systems are reshaping welfare delivery and access to public services. She holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in International Social and Public Policy from the LSE. Keerthana is currently working with the Independent Federation for Safeguarding to understand how safeguarding frameworks can better support Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) as they navigate the frontlines of child protection.
Jacob Griffith
Jacob is currently completing an MSc in International Relations at the LSE, in which I am exploring the relationship between mass violence and trauma. He has experience researching topics in the field of AI governance, and is broadly interested in bias and misalignment issues in AI as well as AI governance regimes such as the EU AI Act. Jacob’s research at Nologix looks into heuristic biases in the use of LLMs for wargaming strategies.
